Hi. My name is Trina and I am an Instagram Addict.
It's been ages since my last post. My apologies. Am officially a future member of Instagram Anonymous.
Taking an "insta" break to write this hahahahaĆ¼
So much has passed since February . Let's see, Instagram finally made money. A cool 1 billion USD courtesy of Facebook. Little fiefdoms on IG (instagram) have risen and fallen.
IG is now available on Android. Welcome Android Igers!
Have gained a whole lot of new friends who share the love of mobile photography/iphoneography through Instagram. Can't believe there's so many people out there who are so in love with this new genre of photography. Everyday I stumble upon galleries upon galleries of amazing and beautiful photos lovingly created and posted by people everywhere. Truly fantastic and overwhelming.
What amazes me even more is the friendships and communities that form in this photo sharing app. As time goes by, through sharing and commenting on each other's photos bonds of love and care form between so many people from different cultures and places. So much gratitude and appreciation leap off the pages of IG, well at least most of the time. Haters are out there, but they are far and few between. Most of them eventually get voted off the island aka blocked by IG heheĆ¼
My phone now has over a thousand pictures in its roll, lying in wait for the next photo editing and sharing adventure. Got so much more photo editing apps and have learned so many things on this IG journey can't wait to share them all here.
Still a newbie, still not a pro, still learning. Come on this learning journey with me.
Posting again soon.
See you!

Amazing the things you can do with an iPhone!!!
Apps I used for this edit are:
Juxtaposer- my current favourite for creating surreal images. Just put one photo on top of the other and erased away all the other parts of the bride's photo and move the bride's remaining top image to where I wanted it on the photo.
Camera + - Ding! super useful for manipulating light and cropping photos.
Transfoto - Finally to kick it up a notch and make it look like an impressionist painting.
Milk Tea + Editing + Praying = Fabulous Photos hahahaha:)
Not yet so great at giving the detailed steps in editing or why I chose this or that, I just go with what looks pretty and makes sense. Hopefully I can slow down my process and describe it all step by step. Perhaps skipping the Milk Tea next time lol!
See yah all soon!
Love,
Trina
p.s. Thanks to my dear friend Patty who looked so awesome at her wedding. And thanks to Ally for getting me addicted to mobile photography :)
It's Alive!
Hello!
On a whim and a prayer, am starting to write this now.
Would love to share with all of you the multitude of things that interest me.... spirituality, food, and most recently mobile photography.
Mobile photography?!?!
Yes, photos taken with your smart phone ladies and gents. Edited with your smart phone too. As for me, am partial to apple hehe although I recently was gifted with an Android tab.
I loooooove it! Since I just started with this activity which will most likely turn into a serious hobby, will clue you in on the basics of this growing field of photography.
Disclaimer: By no means am I a pro, am just like any other non techie person who can't make heads or tails of most cameras, apps, devices, and programs. Lol! Still exploring and learning on this front.
How did I begin? Hmm...
Last Thursday:
1. Took a LOT of photos
2. Downloaded some apps for photos: (at the suggestion of a friend who is highly addicted to iphoneography)
A. Instagram - photo sharing website sans spying on your personal info
B. Juxtaposer - fabulous app for cutting out objects and pasting them on different backgrounds (I made
leftover fish from a sushi boat fly in the sky using this)
C. Camera+ - has lots of cool filters and effects, plus you can change the way your photo is lit
D. Transphotos - if you want your photo to like like it had a hit of LSD, this is the app for you
E. Illusion Hand - fantastic for all the drama black and white photos with a pop of color here and there,
as in you can drain all the color from your image and add colors where you want
them with the swipe of your teeny weeny finger.
3. Joined a fabulous group in Instagram, Fotografia United. FU for short lol:) gotta love that abbreviation!
4. Started uploading and joining photo sessions... still learning how to work the hash tags though (tags that make your photos viewable to many other photo lovers)
And I've been hooked ever since!
Love the organic way I can edit the photos on I Phone and I Pad apps. It feels liberating, like doodling in a notebook.
See you all soon!
Peace :)
